The application needs to be filled out in its entirety, notarized and sent to
the Club Office for processing. Your card will be processed promptly and
you will receive your card and paperwork in the mail from the Club Office in
Illinois. All applications and fees should be sent to:

NOTE: A copy of your driver's license can be sent in place of your birth
certificate for those with concerns.
You do not need to be a member of a federally recognized tribe to become
a full member, just be able to claim Cherokee ancestry. Once you sign
your application and have it notarized, this becomes a sworn statement. A
one time membership fee of $25.00 must be sent along with your
application for a photo I.D. We also have a nonphoto I.D. available for a
one time fee of $15.00.
Instructions for a Photo I.D.: An applicant can submit their photo two
ways:
1. Send a current passport quality photo with your application.
2. Email a current digital photo. The photo must be a clear, in focus
photo against a white background. Email your photo with your name in
the subject line to the Club President. Send your completed application
and membership fee by regular mail to the Club Office. Click here to email
your photo.
NOTE: We are not asking for your actual passport. We are asking that you
NOT send any information which contains social security numbers or
credit card numbers. We will NEVER ask you for this information. If you
are concerned about sending a copy of your birth certificate, then please
feel free to black out any information you feel is sensitive or private. We
only need to see your name. If this does not alleviate your concerns, then
please just send a copy of your driver's license rather than the birth
certificate and again, black out any information that you feel is sensitive or
private. We are willing to work around whatever issues you may have
