The United People of Cherokee Heritage is a national Club
for people of Cherokee ancestry to come together and
meet others who are also of Cherokee blood and learn a
little about their Cherokee heritage. We are people of
Cherokee blood. People who can not trace their ancestry
back to the Trail of Tears.

We are not a part of the Cherokee Nation or any
recognized Cherokee Indian Tribe and we do not claim to
be. We are people of Cherokee blood who only wish to
learn about the Cherokee people and the Cherokee
Heritage.

Many Indian people did not sign the Indian Rolls. The
Rolls were a way for the government to keep track of
Indian people. Many Indian people did not want to be
relocated, therefore they hid in the mountains and hills or
moved to other areas and lived as white. None of these
people are on the Indian Rolls. Because they did not want
to be under the thumb of the government.

Many people have said that because we are not on the
Rolls we are not Cherokee, we are not Indian. Black Elk
and many others have said, if you have one drop of Indian
blood in your veins, then you are Indian. So, just because
we can not trace our ancestry back to the Trail of Tears on
the Indian Rolls, does that mean we stop being Indian? Of
course not! But there are many who want people to think
so! They call us wanna be's, impostors, fakes, and
everything else they can think of.  We ignore their
ignorance. We know who we are and they can not take
that away from us. We are here to learn the Cherokee
ways, and we will not allow others to bother us.

There is a lot of interesting information throughout the
website. Feel free to look through the website. Read our
Monthly Newsletter, the Herb of the Month, and the many
other interesting things we have to offer in the website of
the United People of Cherokee Heritage.
